As human beings, we all harbour a spirit of creativity rattling around inside of us, trying to push outwards and take shape. Although creative people believe in the possibility of the impossible because they understand you never really know anything for sure.
At the same time, creative people are willing to share what they see and how they interpret it with the rest of the world. For us, the world has more meaning, more intricacies, more complexity and more possibilities than it does for the average person.

A Recipe for Creativity
Simply put, creativity involves transforming our ideas, imagination, and dreams into reality. When we’re being creative, we can see the hidden patterns, make connections between things that aren’t normally related, and come up with new ideas.
I could use the old cliche that to be a creative person we need imagination, passion, and so on. However for this recipe I’ll use different ingredients, that are less spoken and that are extremely important for someone who wants to take creativity to the next level.
In this analogy I’ll cook a recipe that reminds us that ideas transform and merge by their integration, becoming different kinds of ideas.
Lets get started, shall we?
300g of Immaturity
Creative people combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility. Immaturity often goes hand-in-hand with creativity. There is a very fine balance between this responsible + irresponsible nature in creative people.
260g of Foolishness
Highly creative people are known to use both sides of their brain to process information, which gives them an edge up on innovation. Most people are more comfortable focusing on facts and minutia where they seemingly have more control, whereas, the creative people thrives in the space of the unknown, too stressful for most.
1/4 cup of Emotion
Creative individuals may often be introverted, but they spend just as much time looking outside as they do looking inside. They pay better attention to the little things and, in doing so, allow those little things to elicit a greater emotional response than to the average, not-so-creative individual.
1/2 cup of Bravery
Highly creative individuals are bold risk takers. They are brave and willing to risk it all just to see what happens. Full of curiosity and show an interest in the trial and error process of learning. Ready to embrace mistakes and use their wisdom to effectively execute their more innovative ideas.
1 teaspoon of Unconventionality
When they find themselves getting comfortable, they consciously disrupt routine and challenge the status quo. Creative people live with the belief that if they follow the crowd they will get lost in it. Their actions will be criticised and more people will try to bring them down then build them up, but they will continue to be fearless in their pursuits.
Instructions
- Preheat your brain to 160°C.
- In a large bowl, cream together the immaturity and foolishness.
- Gradually add the emotion and combine with the bravery, spread half of this mixture into the bottom of the preheated brain and add a thin layer of unconventionality.
- Pour this mixture to the right side of your brain and bake for 10–20 minutes.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes.
